The Oscar Peterson Trio Live at Newport in 1957. Released on Verve Records in 1958. This may be the greatest jazz album I’ve ever heard. The great Roy Eldridge on trumpet and Sonny Stitt on Alto sax. Peterson plays the piano as if possessed. He is jazz’s answer to Jerry Lee Lewis.
